Yesterday I got the first of two tattoos I have been wanting to get for some time. My soul feels that while my family didn’t know any better, I have a lot of making up to do. With all my heart I want to do everything I can to help, not only elephants, but all creatures - great and small. The thought alone pains me and breaks my heart. When I look in the elephant’s eyes in all the photos, you can see how there is no life left in them whatsoever. Now that I’m wiser, I know - without a doubt - that those beautiful creatures were mistreated and abused. When I was younger, I thought this was so cool. My great, great grandfather used to own elephants and would lease them out to the circuses. However, that is only one of the reasons why I love the species so much. They are symbolic of my two passions: wildlife conservation and mindfulness. I’m go grateful you came to Stumptown!Įlephants are very special to me. Thank you for one of the best July 4th ever. Her class is on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 7:45PM at Shanti OM in North Portland and listed on their website. However, just like me, we aim to teach from the heart. You will move a lot more and be guided into more challenging poses. If you feel my style in the parks is a little too mellow for your liking, you should definitely check her out. We teach the same night and that doesn’t matter. It was a great experience from beginning to end. I knew it was going to be good (we have the same teachers after all □) I just didn’t know HOW good. This was the first time I joined a class in which she led. Stacy and I did our training together in San Francisco and have practiced many times next to one another on both coasts. (Yoga is a great way to celebrate our Independence, BTW □□□) Happiness and pure joy is doing yoga with this lovely human! I was so fortunate to be part of her class on the 4th of July.
